Business Leadership Awards
Congratulations to the 2011 Winner!
Richard D. Busby
Vice President, Senior Community Development Officer, Wells Fargo
Nominated by Neighborhood Housing Services of Birmingham, Inc.
In the face of rising foreclosures and declining homeownership rates in Birmingham, Richard Busby has dedicated himself to educating families about effective solutions to their financial proglems. He has engaged several organizations, including NHS of Birmingham, to join him in providing information to residents to address foreclosure prevention, financial planning, and loss mitigation procedures. Mr. Busby partnered with NHS to host a free financial literacy event, providing more than 200 families with free credit reports, information on budgeting techniques, homeownership best practices and foreclosure prevention. He also introduced the “Hands On Banking” program, which guides adolescents and adults in financial management. Through, Richard Busby’s commitment, Birmingham residents have the tools they need to make sound financial decisions.
