Why We Give
- "With more than 30 years of experience in the community development industry, Bank of America recognizes the outstanding contributions of NeighborWorks America and local NeighborWorks organizations, which share our commitment to creating and sustaining home ownership, building assets for low- and moderate-income families and individuals and revitalizing neighborhoods."
Liz Ferrer, Community Development Executive,
Bank of America
Why Give?
Socially responsible corporations and foundations have long understood the benefits of partnering with effective, high-impact nonprofit organizations. Today, however, the value proposition is more complex. We know that no organization can succeed in solving social problems on its own. It takes a strong partnership of the public sector, the private sector and nonprofit organizations to bring vision to fruition. For more than 30 years, the U.S. Congress, and many national corporate and foundation partners have come to trust NeighborWorks to get things done.
Giving to NeighborWorks means much more than making a monetary contribution. It is a commitment to a shared vision that all individuals deserve decent, healthy homes they can afford – and safe communities in which their children can grow and thrive.
Why NeighborWorks?
NeighborWorks America is the country’s preeminent leader in affordable housing and community development. We are the nation’s top trainer for housing and community development professionals; our counseling certification is recognized by HUD as setting industry-wide standards for the housing industry.
The 235 member organizations that comprise the NeighborWorks Network must meet stringent membership criteria and undergo rigorous reviews every year to ensure they are delivering the highest-quality and most efficient and effective services to lower-income communities nationwide.
Why Now?
In the last five years alone NeighborWorks organizations have generated more than $16 billion in reinvestment and helped nearly one million families of modest means purchase or improve their homes or secure safe, decent rental housing.
Leading corporations and private foundations alike put their trust in NeighborWorks’ 30 years of experience, impact and credibility. Together with our foundation, business and public- sector partners, NeighborWorks continues to be a transformative agent, providing the opportunities for people of all means the opportunity for safe, decent communities in which to live and raise their families.
Today the need has never been so great. The impact has never been as important.
Please join us in building a nation of communities that all are proud to call home.
