Neighborhood
Housing Services of America
(The NHSA Group)
Neighborhood Housing Services of America (NHSA) is a national nonprofit secondary market that has provided innovative financial solutions for nonprofit housing providers since 1974. The NHSA Group (NHSA, NHSA-CDFI and Just Price Solutions) works together to provide the financing, services, technology and loan products to strengthen communities and improve lives for the long term.
While NHSA purchases loans from NeighborWorks organizations and their lender partners, NHSA-CDFI makes direct loans to NeighborWorks organizations. Just Price Solutions delivers Web-based automated underwriting that digitally connects NHSA’s safe, responsible loan products and long-term borrower support system with ground-breaking alternative credit analysis and centralized back office processing. The result is a quick, easy way to provide low-cost mortgages to a wider range of responsible borrowers. What was once a manual and tedious transaction is now handled by a streamlined, cutting-edge solution.
NeighborWorks Capital
NeighborWorks Capital (NC) was formed in 2007 from the merger of two established and highly regarded CDFIs that served the NeighborWorks network well: Neighborhood Capital Corporation and RNA Community Builders. These two organizations combined their resources to better serve the NeighborWorks members.
NeighborWorks Capital is governed by a nine member Board of Directors, a majority of which are executive directors of NeighborWorks member organizations. NC provides critical risk capital to NeighborWorks members by financing pre-development costs, acquisition of land and buildings, construction, rehabilitation and interim operating costs.
Financing provided by NeighborWorks Capital — combined with development grants, technical assistance and asset management support from NeighborWorks America — enhances the ability of NeighborWorks member organizations to produce housing and community projects that are both affordable and sustainable.
