Officers - Jeffrey T. Bryson
NeighborWorks America
Jeffrey Bryson has been employed with NeighborWorks America since August 1987. He began his tenure with the organization as attorney and was promoted to deputy general counsel in November 1988. In July 1990, he was appointed by the organization's board of directors to the position of acting general counsel. Subsequently, Bryson was appointed to the position of general counsel/secretary in May 1991. As the organization's chief legal officer, he is responsible for providing advice and counsel to the organization's directors, officers and managers on a wide range of legal and policy issues affecting the organization's operational and programmatic activities, judicial and quasi-judicial forums. As the corporate secretary, Bryson is responsible for maintaining the official books and records of the organization. Bryson has been a practicing attorney since 1982. Prior to joining NeighborWorks America, Bryson worked in a private law practice from 1983 to 1987. He served earlier as a Reginald Heber Smith fellow and later staff attorney with the Legal Services Corporation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While a legal services attorney, he assisted a local NeighborWorks organization in its incorporation process and served on the organization's board of directors and chaired its loan committee. He also completed internships with the Department of Labor's Bureau of Interpretation and the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. Bryson holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a juris doctor of law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association. |
