Dear Colleague,
Whatever role we play in the community development field, the difficult economy of the past few years has pressed us all to be even more efficient and effective in providing opportunities and strengthening communities. It was during this challenging period that NeighborWorks America began to offer Organizational Assessment Services (OAS) to nonprofit organizations beyond its network. OAS is proving to be one more valuable tool to support community developers.
In this initial issue of the OAS e-newsletter, you will hear from nonprofit executive directors in Oregon who used NeighborWorks capacity assessments as a critical part of their strategic planning with support from the state’s housing finance agency. I'd be glad to talk to you directly about how our services can help you or your partners see the road forward.
All the best for 2013 and beyond!

Always a very grassroots, community-based organization, FHDC was positioned to make big leaps and take on a statewide role in housing development. However, we did not want to lose our connection to the community. Read more >>
