Hacienda Community Development Corporation

Working with Latino families and others, Hacienda Community Development Corporation (Hacienda) promotes healthy living and economic advancement. For more than 20 years, Hacienda has worked to transform neglected neighborhoods in northeast Portland by reclaiming crime-ridden and decayed properties and replacing them with infrastructure in which families live, learn and play. OAS began working with Hacienda just before Victor Merced began his tenure as the new executive director, and reviewers went on-site weeks after he came onboard in September 2011. Hacienda worked with OAS to assess their strengths and challenges and to develop a sense of business opportunities. Merced stated that the assessment “was a welcomed opportunity to become better at what we do.”
