Green Choices, Green Value:
For the Families and Communities We Serve
NeighborWorks Symposium - March 2, 2011
Photo Contest: 3rd Place - Homewise Homeowners
Photo above: Members of Homewise Homeowners are installing solar panels in New Mexico!
Description: Homewise offers an upgrade of a solar electric system to Homewise Homeowners. This option allows them to take advantage of the 300+ days of sunshine that New Mexico receives every year and create their own energy. They are able to sell the power they make to the local utility company which can mean a check of $30 or more each month from the utility to the homeowner. The men in this picture work for a local solar company who installed panels on homes in Vista Jemez, a Homewise Homes™ neighborhood.
