Disaster Preparedness and Recovery

Community development organizations have an important role to play in helping communities prepare for and recover from disasters. With this in mind NeighborWorks has created a helpful tool community development organizations can use to help prepare for potential disasters facing their communities. Our tool focuses on long term preparation for and recovery from disasters since community development organizations are best suited for this scope. In addition, we have provided links to supplemental resources for both planning and immediate crisis management. By combining our tool with the additional resources on this site we are confident the community development field can make a real difference in the quality of disaster preparation and recovery our nation’s communities undertake.
