National Loan Modification Scam Alert Campaign Launches in New York and Maryland
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other local officials joined NeighborWorks COO Eileen Fitzgerald in New York City on February 18 to raise awareness about loan modification scams.

NeighborWorks America congratulates the 19 local NeighborWorks organizations, along with their local, regional, and state partners, who were awarded more than $548 million or 27 percent of the total $1.93 billion awarded in the second round of Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
National Campaign Empowers Homeowners to Combat Loan Modification Scams
More than half (54 percent) of homeowners who received foreclosure counseling through the NFMC Program reported the primary reason they were facing foreclosure was reduced or loss of income. This finding was reported in NeighborWorks’ fourth Congressional report, which reported on NFMC Program activity through August 18, 2009.
